it seems like you're sort of forcing yourself to use the entire page when you necessarily don't need to. the first poster, does it need to reach the top of the page to the bottom? and does the edge of the bucket need to be a full page in height? think about composition, i think it will help resolve your design a bit.

This is interesting....
1. its very experimental with space form and function. You are stepping out of bounds of everyday street clothes and making it a performance suits the idea perfectly!

2. the idea of modular architecture as clothing is wonderful! it talks to issues of space in the avg. manhattan apartment - issues of use and reuse - creative reuse where you dont just go out and buy more...

Hey Peter Kerlins gf is a dancer - if you want a woman.
Also there is a 1st year who i met at TNO whos gf is a dancer as well...

so we have access to more than just rotem :)

I like the idea of the performance. However I am not sure what you mean when you say " anyone is welcome to re-enact the experience." The two, especially as you describe the performance later in the text, are very different in terms of set up, inviting the viewer to participate etc. I am not sure how important having viewers eventually interact with the wall is to you but if it is then you have to consider how to facilitate such interaction and what that means (how do you "explain" what they could do, what happens when they "finish", how do they reattach the pieces etc).

I like your references very much and they helped me to better understand your idea and get a sense of the experience you want to invoke.

Why do you want to have a TV embedded? why not just music? is it to evoke the MTV feeling or does it serve another purpose? I guess one advantage of having the TV is that once the performance is over you can have a video of it playing. But what is its function during the performance?

I would urge you to find your dancer ASAP. I woudl think that the choreography will be as important as the construction, or rather it might be a good idea to develop the two in parallel: how does the body "fit" in a wall structure? how doe it "snap" etc. So working with a real "body" early on will help both to fine tune the concept, create the mood you want will help also terms of contruction. And besides the playful character of the experience: the idea that you "dress" yourself with your environment, and you merge with it, are other emotions + ideas that you want to invoke?

It will also be good (in fact critical) to choose your material very soon since it will dictate how the forms will fall on the body, what type of connectors you can attach to the material etc. And of course, being an architect you know that its success will also depend on the actual quality of the construction and how "finished" it can look which again hinges very much on the material.

Modularity: will your wall be modular? so you can transport and reassemble or would you have to build everything on the spot?

We must also talk about size and space you would need early on so we can make sure you will have the room you need for the performance.

Hope this helps. It is a great idea.

It reminds me of (for no immmediate reason): Andrea Zittel, Bruce Nauman's video corridors.
